"android is upgrading, and afterwards it came optimizing application 1 of 158", later came as starting apps then tecno will come and the upgrading starts again for more than 24 hours. i need a solution to stop it and have access to the phone. i cant do anything with the phone so please give me the right solution. I started getting this android is starting....optimizing apps 1 of 1. after reading this thread, i found the problem to be zedge. i've used this app for about 6 years, then a recent forced update started causing the error, making my phone take about 15 minutes to boot. i uninstalled zedge and got rid of the problem.. I get a quick android is upgrading, starting apps just for a sec though after each reboot. installed 17 old apps i had backed up on my sd card to test. rebooted and i get android is optimizing 100 of 116 rebooted several times with the same message. appears that even after a full factory reset i still have the problem..

I was wondering if anyone could help me. my phone died the other day so i charged it up to 100% and then turned it on. as normal, a screen appeared saying optimising app -- of 205. when this finished my phone began to turn on with the usual screens however went straight back to optimising apps 1 of. If restarting doesn’t fix android 5.1.1 battery issues, you might want to consider checking out which of the apps that you are using on your android phone are creating the problem..
